Civic Cocktail: Protecting Orcas

Sip a few cocktails with friends and network with like-minded individuals at this dual-purpose get together. First, listen to Stephanie Solien of the Killer Whale Recovery and Task Force and Nate Tyler, chairman of the Makah Tribe, talk with Civic Cocktail host Joni Balter about Washington state's action plan for orca whale recovery.

Next, there will be a recap of the midterm elections with U.S. representative Pramila Jayapal and KTTH radio host Jason Rantz. They will discuss election results, and what they mean for the people and communities of the Puget Sound.

Seattle Winter Ciderfest

This seasonal tasting event will allow visitors to sample a variety of ciders, including a pumpkin cider, spiced ciders, barrel-aged ciders and much more. Expect sweet, tart and even bitter beverages. Guests will have access to unlimited two-ounce pours and food samples from snack vendors on site.

Adult Swim at the Seattle Aquarium

Last but not least, the Seattle Aquarium is hosting an adults-only cocktail party this Friday night. Guests of age will enjoy a hosted bar, hors d'oeuvres and live music by DJ Troy Nelson, and proceeds will benefit programs supporting the Seattle Aquarium's mission of inspiring conservation of marine environments. Cocktail attire is encouraged.

When: Friday, November 9, 8 p.m.- Saturday, November 10, 12 a.m.
