'The Journey Within' exhibition opening

First up, the Latela Art Gallery celebrates its latest exhibition, "The Journey Within," with a free opening night reception. Eight local artists explore their personal lives, psychedelic journeys, dreams and fears through abstract expressionism.

Hamiltunes DC: A Winter's Ball

Juste Debout: The Hip-Hop Dance Event of the Year

Hip-hop dancers will want to pair up for this competition to be held at Union Market. Two-person teams will perform short routines in categories like popping, locking and house dance. Judges will choose four teams to go on to compete at the main event next year in Paris.

When: Sunday, Dec. 2, 12-7 p.m.

Sip, Paint, & Afrobeats: Exhibition

Finally, join the hosts of The Africanist Podcast for this combined art exhibition, happy hour and music showcase. Works from DMV artists will adorn the walls. DJs Earthkwak and Rozaye will spin the latest Afrobeats and hip-hop. Food and wine is on the house. (The opportunity to receive painting instruction has sold out.)
