Journeys to Belonging

World Relief Sacramento, the charitable arm of the National Association of Evangelicals, works to settle and support refugees in the region. It's hosting a storytelling night featuring the experiences of its clients, volunteers and staff.

Tickets include complimentary refreshments, appetizers and a dessert.

PurpleStride Sacramento 2018

PurpleStride is a 5k run/walk to end pancreatic cancer, one of more than 50 each year nationwide that are organized by the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. It has raised over 87 million dollars since 2008.

Runners are sponsored by their families and communities to raise money for pancreatic cancer research and patient services. Although online registration has closed, you can still register in person on the day of the event.

When: Saturday, November 10, 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Hops & Handlebars

Hops & Handlebars is an annual prostate cancer awareness fundraiser set up in memory of Dr. Benjamin Pessah. All proceeds go to nonprofit organization Zero - The End of Prostate Cancer, which funds patient support programs, research, and awareness so more men get tested.

The event is free, with plenty of opportunities to donate or win prizes through raffle drawings, a cake walk and a mustache contest. There's also a VIP package with access to a private bar, a souvenir pint glass and 25 raffle tickets.

Torch of Hope Benefit Concert

This free rock and blues benefit festival raises money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention through donations and raffle prizes. This year, performers will include  The Breakers, The Hucklebucks, The Pistofferson Brothers and Aaron King. Food will be available for purchase.
