Every year, at least since 1994, people have been celebrating World Vegan Day on November 1. That being said, you don't have to be a strict vegan to enjoy Milwaukee's vegan fare.

Next up is the Riverwest Co-op & Café, situated at 733 E. Clarke St. With 4.5 stars out of 131 reviews on Yelp, the natural food store and cafe has proven to be a local favorite.

If you're craving breakfast, this haunt has peanut butter chocolate smoothies and blueberry pancakes. Reviewers gush about the Reuben and Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, made vegan style.   

3. Urban Beets Cafe & Juicery

Urban Beets Cafe & Juicery, located downtown at 1401 N. Dr Martin Luther King Drive, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the raw juice bar and cafe 4.5 stars out of 113 reviews.

Beyond its made-to-order juice and superfood smoothies, the plant-based eatery is serving up a veggie pesto pizza, Thai peanut burger and a sweet potato melt with spinach, red onion, house mayo and balsamic. 

4. Bowls

Then there's the fast-casual Bowls, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 57 reviews on Yelp. You can find the mostly vegan eatery at 207 W. Freshwater Way in Walker's Point. 

Options include fruit-filled smoothie bowls, strawberry banana lime chia pudding and Thai red curry and soba noodle bowls.
