Topping the list is bakery and breakfast spot CommonWealth Coffeehouse. Located at 118 Davis Court, it's the highest rated business in the neighborhood, boasting 4.5 stars out of 334 reviews on Yelp.
It offers both breakfast and lunch, plus a Saturday brunch. Coffee and pastries are served all day. Breakfast options include the Croissant Bechamel with black forest ham, cheese and bechamel sauce on a croissant; and the omelette with either veggies, ham & cheese or spinach & cheese, served with sliced potatoes and bread. For lunch, expect to see the turkey avocado sandwich with heirloom tomatoes, mozzarella and arugula with a balsamic reduction; and the Commonwealth Salad with seared goat cheese medallions, caramelized English walnuts, strawberries and a champagne vinaigrette over baby spinach.
Yelper Emarie B., who reviewed it on Nov. 14, wrote, "A must! I've been there many times and never had a bad experience. The ambiance is great. There's seating in the front, inside and in the back of the building and you really can't get a bad seat. You have to try the infused water when you first get in. All the coffee drinks are amazing and the food and pastries are good as well."

3. Cheesy Jane's

Cheesy Jane's, a spot to score burgers and more, is another top choice. Yelpers give the business, located at 4200 Broadway St., four stars out of 242 reviews.
On the menu, you'll find burgers like the Pork Burger with Canadian bacon, sauteed mushrooms and Swiss cheese; the Wurst Burger with grilled onions, barbecue sauce, cheddar, pepper jack cheese and a kielbasa sausage; and the Pecos Burger with barbecue sauce, cheddar and spicy splinters. It also offers sandwiches, sliders, salads, milkshakes and more.
Charleigh C., who reviewed it on Oct. 30, said, "I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the best burger joint I have ever been to. Everything about this place is awesome. The burgers, the tots and the shakes. I would come here every week if I lived closer."
4. The Pigpen

On offer are options like the smoked wings, the brisket nachos, tacos, burgers, brisket grilled cheese and a chopped salad. Sides include seasoned fries and onion rings. The bar has beer (on draft, bottled and canned), wine and specialty cocktails.
Trey E. wrote, "Pigpen is an absolute blast. Live music, phenomenal food and rocking drinks — this is where you want so spend an evening in the neighborhood. If it's nice out, belly up to the bar and order some brisket tacos, a frozen mule and watch whatever's on the TV."
5. W D Deli

Finally, check out W D Deli, which has earned four stars out of 165 reviews on Yelp. You can find the deli, which offers sandwiches, desserts and more, at 3123 Broadway St.
The menu is built around its sandwiches, which include the Chicken Chipotle Parmesan with grilled chicken breast, melted Parmesan and chipotle mayo served with lettuce and tomato; Wayne's Excellent Hoagie with ham, salami, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, crushed red pepper, Italian dressing and mayo; and the Southwest Roast Beef with jalapeño cream cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and mustard. Yvette S. said, "W D Deli is a neighborhood staple and I am really happy to have them in my neck of the woods. Just about everything I have had here has had a memorable and signature taste. The dressing for their Caesar is just fantastic. One of my favorite menu items is the pimento cheese sandwich with walnuts. Great combo for texture and it gives the cheese some nuttiness."
