Chef Sean Guy founded Water for Chocolate in May 2006, according to his website. This dine-in or take-out restaurant offers a wide selection of hors d'oeuvres, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, large plates and desserts.

2. Canéla

Next up is bakery and breakfast and brunch spot Canéla, serving coffee and tea and more, situated at 1801 E. Lombard St. With 4.5 stars out of 155 reviews on Yelp, it's proven to be a local favorite.

This Mediterranean-style cafe, which bears its name from the Spanish word for cinnamon, offers appetizers,entrées, coffee, and a selection of wine and beer. Yelpers rave about its zaatar sandwich filled with spicy eggplant, roasted red peppers, red onions, cucumbers, sliced hard-boiled eggs and goat cheese.

Yelper Kiara C. wrote, "The Nutella shake is so delicious. The avocado BLT is filled with avocados, perfectly crispy bacon on a toasted bagel."

3. Johnny Rad's Pizzeria Tavern

Johnny Rad's offers starters, pizza, sandwiches and desserts suitable for meat eaters and vegetarians. Start with bar fare like lightly-breaded balls stuffed with mushroom risotto and mozzarella.

If you're craving pizza, Look for the Trainwreck topped with tomato sauce, mushrooms, baby spinach, black olives, mozzarella, olive oil and sea salt.
