In search of a new favorite breakfast and brunch spot?

Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top breakfast and brunch spots around Anderson, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to fill the bill.


1. Eggs Up Grill

Topping the list is Eggs Up Grill. Located at 1601 E. Greenville St., the breakfast and brunch and traditional American spot is the highest rated breakfast and brunch restaurant in Anderson, boasting 4.5 stars out of 60 reviews on Yelp.

Breakfast options on the menu include The Classic that includes two eggs with a choice of bacon or sausage and served with home fries, grits or toast, as well as pancakes, waffles, omelettes and breakfast sandwiches. For lunch, there's the turkey-berry wrap with sliced turkey, spinach and strawberries and poppy seed dressing on the side. 

Yelper Aimee J said, "This is one of my favorite places for breakfast. I love the Eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon or the Tomato Florentine Eggs Benedict. The breakfast sandwiches are great too."

2. Corner Bagel Bakery & Deli

Next up is Corner Bagel Bakery & Deli, situated at 715 E. Greenville St. With four stars out of 26 reviews on Yelp, the bakery, which offers bagels and more, has proven to be a local favorite.

On the menu, look for 17 varieties of bagels that customers can top with six spreads, including cream cheese, butter, peanut butter or honey and lox and cream cheese. Yelpers recommend the specialty bagels like the Iron Man that has egg whites, grilled chicken and provolone on an eight-grain bagel. In addition to bagels, there are grilled and cold sandwiches, wraps, soups and salads.

"If you live in the area and have not been to Corner Bagel, you are missing out," Yelper Flynn M. said. "These are some of the best handmade bagels in the state, piled high with homemade cream cheeses of all different flavors. If you're lucky, they'll have leftover bagels made into bagel chips (sweet or hot style) that you can take home."

3. Mr. Rivers Breakfast Joint

Mr. Rivers Breakfast Joint, located at 125 N. Main St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the breakfast and brunch spot four stars out of 24 reviews.

Yelpers raved about the chocolate-covered cherry pancakes as well as the chicken and biscuits and fried pork chop topped with gravy. 

"The breakfast here is so delicious," Yelper Candice W. said. "We decided to stop by one morning and we were so happy we did. The vegetable gravy they had was so good. We can't wait to go back."

4. Grace's Coffee House & Restaurant

Grace's Coffee House & Restaurant, a Southern, breakfast and brunch and traditional American spot, is another much-loved go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 10 Yelp reviews. Head over to 1510 N. Murray Ave. to see for yourself.

While they may be standards, Yelpers loved the eggs, omelettes and pancake and waffles options on the breakfast menu. Burgers and sandwiches are also available for lunch.

Yelper Brittany M. said, "The food is delicious, well prepared, and they are flexible enough to accommodate any customizations that you need, such as egg-whites only, wheat toast, etc. They don't only serve breakfast, but they also have very delicious sandwiches."
