In search of a new favorite Italian spot?

Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top Italian eateries around Greenville, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to satisfy your cravings.

1. Jianna

Topping the list is Jianna. Situated at 600 S. Main St., Floor 2, the modern Italian restaurant has received four stars out of 172 reviews on Yelp and has proven to be a local favorite.

With house pastas made daily, Jianna's offerings include linguine, fettuccine, casarecce and tonarelli. The menu features burrata, chargrilled octopus, potato gnocchi, Italian cheeses, spaghetti and more. Jianna's 40-foot bar has seating indoors and outdoors and serves a variety of cocktails, beer and wine.  

Yelper Craig P. wrote, "This is one of my favorite places to eat. I have not had anything here I did not like. The atmosphere is great, the service is great, the food is great."   

2. Ristorante Bergamo

Ristorante Bergamo, located at 100 N. Main St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the bar and Italian spot four stars out of 54 reviews.

Named for the Piedmont city in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy, Ristorante Bergamo was established in 1986. The spot specializes in pasta and risotto dishes, fish, veal and more. Take a gander at the full menu here.

Yelper T B. wrote, "This place is fantastic. It was some of the best Italian food we've had in years. Great atmosphere and fabulous service. Every part of the meal was great but I really enjoyed the veal."   

3. Trattoria Giorgio

Trattoria Giorgio is another go-to, with four stars out of 49 Yelp reviews. Head over to 121 S. Main St. to see for yourself.

Look for the linguine verde mari (shrimp sautéed in olive oil, garlic, white wine and basil sauce) and veal scallopini piccata (veal sautéed with capers and lemon) on this spot's menu. Trattoria Giorgio's also offers a variety of cocktails, wine and beer. End the evening with tiramisu or panna cotta for dessert.

Yelper Olivia M. wrote, "I always enjoy the lobster ravioli appetizer to start. The salads are all amazing, too. The Bolognese may be my favorite entree but the veal is a close second. Be sure to save room for dessert!"   

4. Davani's Restaurant

Then there's Davani's Restaurant, which has earned four stars out of 45 reviews on Yelp. You can find the Italian spot at 1922 Augusta St.

Specializing in modern Italian cuisine, Davani's entrees include veal Marsala (scaloppini sautéed with wild mushrooms in Marsala wine sauce) and grilled lamb chops. The eatery also offers a variety of seafood options including salmon and lobster. The wine list features selections from across the world and cocktails are also available.

Yelper John S. noted, "This place is fantastic for real Italian dishes. It serves  amazing meatballs. The wine list is very good, too, given the prices and quality of selections."
