A new cocktail bar and New American spot has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called The Delegate, the fresh addition is located at 901 L St. NW in Mount Vernon Square.
The menu is seafood-heavy, with both Southern American and international influences. Openers include fried green tomatoes with goat cheese and jalapeño fig jam and Thai chili citrus shrimp. For mains, you'll be offered pan-seared sea bass, chipotle couscous salad and black sesame ahi tuna.
Signature cocktails are a speciality of the drinks program, but there are wine and craft beer options, as well.
The Delegate has gotten off to an uneven start thus far, with a 2.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
David C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on November 16, wrote, "This place had amazing food in a really different setting. Staff was knowledgeable, honest and attentive. Looking forward to going back this weekend with my wife."
Yelper Natally M. added, “The staff is so nice and friendly. The food is great. I recommend to everyone the Thai Shrimp appetizer, the portion is big and the sauce is delicious.”
