Hungry? A new American burger spot has made its debut in the neighborhood. Located at 2233 S. Monaco Parkway in southeast Denver, the newcomer is called OffBeat.

At this build-your-own burger place, diners choose a meat (grass-fed beef, lamb or bison) or black bean patty, then pick the buns, cheese, sauce, toppings and extras. OffBeat's menu also features The Hippie Skippy, a Bibb lettuce wrap with tomatoes, cucumbers, sunflower sprouts, turkey and peanut butter sauce.

Other offerings include starters, soups, salads, a kids menu and desserts like fried churros and a banana split.

With a 4.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh arrival is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Yelper Camille H., who reviewed the new spot on Oct. 30, wrote, “I did a create-your-own burger and fries, and received a free soda for checking in on Yelp! This place has a soda bar, something I've never experienced until today, so that is unique for sure. It is cane soda, and there's lots of flavors you can add, so I tried the cherry cola. Pretty tasty!"

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. OffBeat is open from 10:30 a.m.–10 p.m. from Monday–Thursday, and 10:30 a.m.–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
