If you love live music, there's no time like the present when it comes to getting out and about in Dallas. From a jazz show to a music summit, here are the local music events worth checking out this weekend.

Joe McBride

Keyboardist/Singer Joe McBride is giving a free show to Dallasites this weekend. A popular musician of the city's jazz club scene, McBride has been the opening act for the likes of Whitney Houston, Larry Carlton and the Yellowjackets.

 McBride's debut album, "Grace" (1992) instantly made him a core artist at smooth jazz radio and he has been performing with a fervor ever since. The event is first come, first serve in regards to seating, so get there early.

Champagne Drip & Um.. at Deep Ellum Art Co.

Good Vibes & PRIME are presenting The Road to ILLectric River with Champagne Drip & Um.. to all of Dallas this weekend. 

With a mix of electronic, dubstep, dance and EDM, Champagne Drip offers a unique sound for all in attendance. Um.. offers an equally unique sound. Both are popular on Soundcloud and this event will give fans of all ages a chance to see the artists live.

When: Saturday, December 8, 8 p.m.–Sunday, December 9, 2 a.m.

Breakthrough Music Business Summit Dallas

Any artist hoping to have the ultimate breakthrough is invited to the Breakthrough Music Business Summit. Former A&R director, music industry success coach and music business strategist, Matthew Rix, will head up the summit.

The event is only available to 20 artists, so register quickly. Instead of a routine conference or lecture, guests will be privy to a hands-on meeting with Rix. This is not an artist showcase, A&R audition or mixer, but rather a way for aspiring artists to take their career to the next level.
