ACHE of Western PA Chapter Celebration

ACHE of Western PA, an organization dedicated to providing educational and networking events for healthcare professionals, is hosting a celebration of its chapter.

The event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Karen Feinstein of The Jewish Healthcare Foundation and Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative, who will make a presentation on patient safety initiatives and trends. 

The organization is also hosting a clothing drive to benefit Dress for Success and Washington City Mission. Each donation will give you a raffle ticket for one of the prizes, which includes a gift basket, two weeks of unlimited classes at Local Motion in Homestead, an axe-throwing session for two at Ace Axe Throwing, a professional photography session, two tickets to any escape room and four passes to the National Aviary.

Appetizers and one drink ticket will be provided for each guest, along with a cash bar. Your ticket also includes admission to the Phipps Conservatory Winter Flower Show.

Empowering Women in Philanthropy

The event will honor exemplary women who have dedicated their lives to giving back. This year's honorees include feminist, journalist and political activist Gloria Steinem, Lynn Doehring, Stacy Klein, Dr. Michele Langbein, Sara Makin and Shevelle McPherson. 

Sip on drinks and feast on hors d'oeuvres as you meet these women and network with trailblazers in business and philanthropy. There will be a chance to win the "Slay the Holidays" sleigh, which is packed with tickets to sporting events, restaurant gift cards and pampering certificates. 

Cocktail attire is required. Black tie optional.

Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic & Chorus

The Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic and the university chorus will perform a selection of holiday pieces, including "A Ceremony of Carols" by Benjamin Britten, "The Four Seasons" by Antonio Vivaldi and "Profanation from Jeremiah" by Leonard Bernstein.

When: Friday, Dec. 7, 8-10 p.m.
Where: Carnegie Music Hall, 4400 Forbes Ave.
Admission: $10 for regular admission; $5 for seniors ages 65 and over; free for CMU students, faculty and staff with valid I.D.

Draggin' In The Holidays

The 5801 Video Lounge & Cafe invites guests to its annual event to benefit the Persad Center, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of the LGBTQ community and those affected by HIV. 

Guests can feast on complimentary holiday cookies and take photos with special guest Lola LeCroix and her holiday helpers in the cafe's holiday patio setting. 

The cafe's signature Walk of Shame mimosas will be available from the cash bar.
