Lauren L. noted, "There was so much hype, but it was really like any other fast food burger joint around. The menu was also really small."
Stop by and check it out: Shake Shack is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.

With four stars out of nine reviews on Yelp, the new spot is receiving positive attention.
Mark T., who reviewed it on Dec. 2, said, "The restaurant was spacious and airy and had a modern vibe. The staff was awesome, very accommodating, welcoming and polite, and service was prompt. Overall, I'd say the pricing was very reasonable and slightly cheaper than like restaurants."
Yelper Rosita D. noted, "Overall the staff was very friendly, the food was fresh and it's in a great location (hopefully parking doesn't become a problem)."
The new burger joint is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. daily.
Negril Social
3428 N. Tryon St., North Charlotte

Negril Social is an upscale Caribbean spot.
Negril Social's menu includes everything from soups and salads to seafood and pastas. Try Chef Romeo's signature fish stew with pumpkin, potatoes, okra, onion and herbs, jerk chicken or the braised oxtail stew. (Take a gander at the full menu here.)
The new restaurant is off to a shaky start with four reviews giving it three stars on Yelp, though it's still early days.
Mattie F., who reviewed it on Nov. 2, said, "The food, the service, the music—loved everything! I am vegan and the chef actually took extra special care of me and created a vegan meal just for me! My husband had the red snapper and the fish was so fresh. Everything was cooked fresh, so it was a little bit of a wait, but it was well worth it!"
However, Lakisha H. wrote, "The mac & cheese was dry and lacked flavor. I only got two plantains and they didn't have great flavor either. The chicken was okay. I was a little disappointed that they used party wings for the entree. The flavor was okay. The red beans and rice was not good. Overall, this wouldn't be a place that I would return to."
It's open from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m.–6 p.m. on Sunday.
