Lou’s Italian Specialties is a casual East Coast-style deli spot.
This eatery serves a variety of signature sandwiches like The Louie, which has Genoa salami, capicola, cooked ham, provolone cheese, shaved iceberg lettuce, tomato and red onions topped with mayo, oil and vinegar. It also offers a variety of fresh salads and soups. (See the full menu here.)
With a 4.5-star rating out of 11 reviews on Yelp, it's off to a strong start with local diners.
Andrew F., who reviewed it on Dec. 13, wrote, "A part of me that I had considered dead was suddenly revived. I'm from New York. This is the only place in Denver that has nailed it down. The bread has chew, crispiness and flavor, ingredients are fresh and in proportion and they secure it with butcher paper that holds up to the task. My hat is off. My jaw is dropped."
Yelper Briana T. added, " Food is amazing and staff is very knowledgable and friendly. Finally a true east coast deli."
The deli is open from 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
Beckon
2843 Larimer St. Five Points

Beckon is an upscale New American spot.
This 18-seat restaurant offers an intimate dining experience that combines both American and European cuisine in its menu, which regularly changes. Guests must purchase tickets in order to reserve a table at the snug location.
The new eatery seems to be a hit so far, with 4.5 stars our of seven Yelp reviews.
Yelper Stephanie M., who reviewed it on Nov. 23, said, "This is the best place in Denver. It was more than dinner, it was a dining experience. The food was exceptional and the wine pairing was perfect. The service was intimate and I felt like I was at a restaurant that should be featured on 'Chef's Table.'"
Anthony A. noted, "Sometimes you can have a dining experience so great that it is downright intimidating to think that you can write about it in words, and this is absolutely one of those situations."
It's open from 5:30–11:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday by reservation only.

Shred415 is a gym and personal training spot.
This gym integrates high intensity interval training into 60-minute workouts taught by trainers, in which members can create personalized fitness plans within group training sessions. The spot also offers perks like childcare, charging stations and complimentary toiletries.
Reviewers have been raving about it so far, giving the gym a five-star rating out of nine Yelp reviews.
Chucky S., who reviewed it on Dec. 7, said, "Wow! This place is clean. The locker room is beautiful and has plenty of counter space and amenities. The total body class is a challenge. I loved the music and the friendly staff. Can't wait to be back."
And Lindsay S. added, "My favorite new workout in Denver! Love the community and staff. I burned over 900 calories during my first class. Every instructor I have taken is amazing and motivating."
The new gym is open from 5:30 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 4:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. on Friday, 7:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 a.m.–1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
