Dakshin Indian Grill

New to 16640 Hawfield Way Drive in Ballantyne West is Dakshin Indian Grill, an Indian spot. It has a four-star rating out of 11 reviews on Yelp so far, indicating a strong start with customers.
The grill's menu includes tandoori, veggie and non-veggie appetizers, veggie and non veggie platters, and biryani. It lists the chicken tikka and lamb chops as highlights on the menu and has a lunch buffet.
Yelper Brian S., in a review on Dec. 7, wrote, "We tried the Lamb Biryani, Chicken Chettinad, Chilli Garlic Naan [and] Mutton Sukka. Each dish was amazing with layered flavors exploding. The heat is real and creeps up on you quickly, so order medium if you are not ready for the afterburn."

Pelican's Snoballs

Now open at 7833 South Blvd. in Starmount Forest is Pelican's Snoballs, a national chain serving desserts and shaved ice. It has garnered a solid four-star rating out of four reviews so far.
On its website, the restaurant says it serves "Original New Orleans Shaved Ice" and has more than 100 flavors on the menu, plus customizable toppings. Make sure to give yourself time review all of the flavors and combinations to order up your favorite combination.
"Everything is $5 or less and there are 100 flavors, so near endless combinations," Yelper Robert K. wrote. "[Do you] like sour flavors? They've got it. Enjoy the creams like chocolate or key lime pie? Done and done."
Snoballs is open from 12-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-9 p.m. on Sunday.
Timed Out

The newcomer has a five-star Yelp rating from three reviews, meaning it's off to fast start. Reservations are required, and you can book a room online.
Yelper Jessica B. wrote, "The actual room is more like three rooms, which was super cool, and everything was super clean and worked correctly like it was supposed to. The clues were just hard enough that we needed help but not so hard it was frustrating."
Timed Out is open from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 12-8 p.m. on Sunday.
