Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top doughnut sources in Denver, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to fill the bill.

1. Voodoo Doughnut

Topping the list is Voodoo Doughnut. Located at 1520 E. Colfax Ave. in Cheesman Park, the bakery, which offers doughnuts and more, is the most popular doughnut spot in Denver, boasting four stars out of 1,596 reviews on Yelp.

Doughnuts include specialties like the Dirt doughnut (with vanilla frosting and Oreo cookies), the Bacon Maple Bar (with maple frosting, topped with bacon), the Memphis Mafia (fried dough and banana chunks covered in glaze, chocolate, peanut butter, peanuts and chocolate chips) and more. 

Yelper Heather W., who reviewed it on Dec. 24, said, "You haven't had doughnuts until you've been here! Not only are they delicious, but there are so many different options to pick from. From sweet, to savory, to dessert, you're sure to find something you'll love!"

2. Habit Doughnut Dispensary

Next up is Highland's Habit Doughnut Dispensary, situated at 1553 Platte St., Suite 130. With four stars out of 262 reviews on Yelp, the spot to score doughnuts has proven to be a local favorite.

Its menu includes doughnuts like Pumpkin Playa, filled with pumpkin cheesecake and covered in graham streusel, or its Triple O.G. Nog, which is filled with boozy eggnog cremeaux and topped with nutmeg glaze and gingerbread streusel.

Alicia G. said, "This place is a gem. I tried four different doughnuts. They were all so unique and special. I also had chai latte with almond milk and it was perfect. Friendly employees, dark and inviting atmosphere. I love this place."

University's The Donut House, located at 2075 S. University Blvd., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the spot to score doughnuts and more five stars out of 28 reviews.

Voted one of PopSugar's "Top 50 U.S. Donut Shops" in 2016, the joint serves a variety of cake, old-fashioned and roasted doughnuts, along with fritters, cinnamon rolls and more.

Popular picks include its strawberry-filled doughnuts and bear claws with apple cinnamon filling.
