Veggie fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your greens. Located at 1610 R St., Suite 125 in Midtown's Ice Blocks development, the newcomer is an outpost of Los Angeles-based chain Mendocino Farms.
It serves seasonal and classic sandwiches like a turkey pesto melt, a pork belly bánh mì and a Peruvian steak sandwich. There's also plant-based fare like vegan sandwiches and eight different entree salads on the menu. The café has local wine and craft beer on tap.
With a 4.5-star rating out of 27 reviews on Yelp so far, Mendocino Farms has already made a good impression.
Vanessa J., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 13, wrote, "The ambiance is inviting, fresh, filled with great energy. The staff was energetic, knew the menu and had great insight on what to try if you needed help narrowing down the great choices they had."
Yelper Edward C. added, "This was possibly the smoothest restaurant grand opening that I've attended. ... The decor is very nice inside, and outside there are tables, heaters, foosball, corn hole, and a charming blue and white cow statue."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Mendocino Farms is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. daily.
