A new sports club, which also serves as a cocktail bar and traditional American spot, has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called SPIN, the fresh addition is located at 1332 F St. NW in Downtown. It also has locations in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and San Francisco, among other cities.
The bar has several ping pong tables and hosts Players' Night each Friday, when customers can play, or watch, challenging games between opponents from the restaurant, as well as a nine-week season and specials like $9 unlimited games on Sunday.
SPIN is also game when it comes to food and drink. The menu is not listed yet on the website, but the Philadelphia menu includes small plates like wraps, tacos, sliders and margherita flatbread. (For more information on the DC location, click here.)
SPIN has already attracted fans thus far, with a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.
Breeze B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 19, wrote, "It's a fantastic new spot that combines the unexpected recreational element of ping pong with a nightlife venue. The food is much better than your average bar fare, and the cocktails are crafty "
Yelper Food F. added, “This place is the best. If you are looking for a great time, with solid music and all around good vibes, come to this place. It's a one-size-fits-all establishment: if you're on a date, single or with a group of friends, there's something for everyone."
Head on over to check it out: SPIN is open from 4–11 p.m. on Monday-Wednesday, 4 p.m.–midnight on Thursday, noon–2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon–8 p.m. on Sunday.
