Playwright Irish Pub brings Irish fare to the Arts DistrictPhoto: Kimberly H./Yelp

Looking to chow down on some Irish fare? A new spot has you covered. Located at 1722 Routh St., Suite 102,  in the Arts District, the new addition is called Playwright Irish Pub.

Before or after a show, customers can stop in and order one of their many whiskies or 50 beers on tap and food from a full menu, which can be viewed here. There are traditional pub fare options, but with an Irish twist, such as the Dublin double burger with two patties, bacon, Irish cheddar cheese, and a fried egg; or the Celtic mac & cheese with three Irish cheeses, bangers and bacon topped with Guinness stout cheese. For entrees, look for the Shepherd's pie, bangers and mash (wild boar and cranberry sausage) and Irish stew.

Playwright Irish Pub has already attracted fans thus far, with a five-star rating out of 36 reviews on Yelp.

Miss M.,  who was among the first Yelpers to review the spot Dec. 2, wrote, "Yes, I have found a gem! Finally, an authentic, amazing Irish pub here in Dallas. Their beer, whiskey, bourbon, etc., selection is amazing."

Yelper Liz S., added, "A budget friendly, actually delicious restaurant that is no nonsense. I visited Playwright Pub on opening day, fully expecting that the food and staff may still need to work out some kinks, but everything was spot on and the food blew us away."

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Playwright Irish Pub is open from 10 a.m.–midnight on Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and 10 a.m.–2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
