A new Mexican spot has debuted in the neighborhood. Called Sandra's Mexican Bar & Grill, the fresh arrival is located at 461 Bridge St.
The selection rages from enchiladas verdes and tacos to seafood and ceviche. Go the seafood route with a fish or shrimp taco, made of of either fried tilapia or shrimp. They're served in soft corn tortillas with mango salsa, green cabbage, cheese and diced tomatoes.
The eatery also has many vegetarian options, such as tacos de lentils, filled with lentils, potatoes, peas and cilantro and served with carrot mix, white rice and a sopa verde soup. (You can check out the full menu here.)
To accompany the meal, diners can choose from a number of specialty Mexican cocktails like the Blackberry Marg, mojitos and classic margaritas. Margaritas are $5 during happy hour and draft beers are $2 off, as well.
Sandra's has made a good impression thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp.
Ana J., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Nov. 16, said, “I am so happy to have a new Mexican restaurant in town! The food was delicious, I had the carne asada tacos and they were tasty!"
And Erin C. wrote, “I had the tacos aogados, which were delicious, and my husband said the carnitas tasted very good. They serve a good salsa with a bean dip, as well.”
