
In search of a new favorite Indian spot? Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top sources of samosas, curries and kofta around Milwaukee, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to fill the bill.
1. Anmol

Topping the list is Anmol Restaurant. Located at 711 W. Historic Mitchell St., the Indian-Pakistani spot is the highest rated restaurant of its kind in Milwaukee, boasting four stars out of 178 reviews on Yelp.
Founder Mohammed Patel settled in Chicago in the early 1990s and now has restaurants in both Chicago and Milwaukee. Start your meal with vegetable samosa or chicken pakora before opting for dinner entree favorites such as chicken korma, fish curry or lamb steak. Here's the full menu.
2. Cafe India

Next up is Cafe India Bar & Grill, situated at 2201 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. With four stars out of 136 reviews on Yelp, the lunch and dinner spot has proven to be a local favorite.
Chef's specials include shahi paneer (cottage cheese cubes in creamy onion based sauce with cashews and raisins); saag chicken, cooked in an onion and tomato cream sauce with spinach and mustard; and gobi Manchurian -- fried cauliflower chunks with crispy bell pepper and onion coated with spicy Indo-Chinese sauce. 3. Bombay Sweets

Over in Morgandale, check out Bombay Sweets, which has earned four stars out of 118 reviews on Yelp. You can find the veggie-friendly Indian joint at 3401 S. 13th St.
This place prides itself on its simplicity, including its plastic silverware. Expect fare from both the north and south of the Indian subcontinent. Options include Indian breads, curries, appetizers, entrees, chef's specialities and a variety of rice dishes.
