Looking to try the best diners in town?

Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top diners in Charlotte, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the best spots to venture next time you're on the hunt.

1. Midnight Diner

Topping the list is Midnight Diner. Located at 115 E. Carson Blvd. in Dilworth, the traditional American diner, breakfast and brunch spot is the highest rated diner in Charlotte, boasting four stars out of 704 reviews on Yelp.

This spot is open 24/7, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Look for chicken and waffles along with seafood platters on the menu. Midnight Diner's french fries and onion rings are made fresh each day.

Yelper Evan M. wrote, "The menu is very extensive and there is something for everyone. My personal favorites include the biscuits and gravy and pecan waffles."      

2. Sunflower Family Restaurant

Next up is Nevin Community's Sunflower Family Restaurant, situated at 5400 Statesville Road. With 4.5 stars out of 54 reviews on Yelp, the diner has proven to be a local favorite.

On the menu, look for options like the fried pork chop sandwich with lettuce, tomato and mayo; the Western omelet with ham, onions and peppers; and the Country Boy breakfast platter with a two egg omelet with bacon, tomatoes and cheese served with country ham, sausage links, hash browns and a biscuit. This spot serves up breakfast and lunch from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Saturday. (Take a gander at the full menu here.)

3. Tryon House Restaurant

Tryon House Restaurant, a diner and Southern spot in York Road, is another go-to, with four stars out of 93 Yelp reviews. Head over to 215 E. Exmore St. to see for yourself.

Look for the Country Fried Steak and Carolina Smoked Sausage among the house favorites. This spot also features catering options. Tryon House restaurant is open from 6 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 7 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday.

Yelper S R. wrote, "This is a hidden little gem in that it is not on a major road. Like anything that is good, people find out about it. Their menu has a wide variety of selections. Family friendly. Fast."

4. Crown Point Restaurant

Over in East Forest, check out Crown Point Restaurant, which has earned four stars out of 53 reviews on Yelp. You can find the diner and traditional American spot, which offers sandwiches and more, at 2518 Sardis Road North.

Established in 1974, this spot is known for its fried squash. Crown Point Restaurant's menu features steaks, pasta, salads and more. End your meal with the fried cheese cake for dessert. 

Yelper Ross F., who reviewed it on Nov. 30, said, "One of our favorite spots for home cooking and Greek-style food. Everything is always fresh and cooked to order.  The service here has always been outstanding. I really like the chicken souvlaki. Crown point is known for having awesome fried squash, and it does not disappoint!"
