Topping the list is Hula Poke. Located at 12730 Interstate 10 West, Suite 304, the spot to score poke and more is the highest rated business of its kind in San Antonio, boasting 4.5 stars out of 310 reviews on Yelp. It has another popular location on San Pedro Ave.

Hula Poke offers poke bowls, salads or wraps with a choice of protein (seafood, chicken or tofu), vegetables, dressings and other toppings. It also serves signature poke dishes like the Hawaiian Classic or unagi poke.  Fish lovers can try the Samurai, which includes salmon with a mix of vegetables, or the Geisha Crunch, which comes with shrimp tempura, romaine lettuce, cucumber, crab salad and Sriracha aioli.

Dani M., who reviewed it on Aug. 18, said, "This was my first time here and I know it will not be my last! The food was amazing! I was tempted to try a sushi burrito, but opted for a poke bowl instead. I was not disappointed! I chose ahi tuna, spicy salmon and eel for my protein and it was fresh and savory."

Poke Central also primarily serves poke bowls with various choices to fill it up. The protein choices are tuna, shrimp, salmon or tofu with a large variety of fresh vegetables from which to choose. Sauces like ginger miso and spicy Hawaiian citrus are offered, and you can choose a drizzle of spicy mayo, creamy wasabi or Sriracha to finalize your creation.

Chris B., who reviewed it on Dec. 16, said, "Fresh fish, lots of options to add and several sauce choices. Throw in a good price for a lot of food and you've got a great poke place. To make it even better, they have an easy online ordering system for take out."

4. Koifin Poke Sushi Burrito

Over in Hills and Dales, check out Koifin Poke Sushi Burrito, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 15 reviews on Yelp. You can find the sushi bar, which offers poke and more, at 7211 Green Glen Drive, Suite 102.

Koifin Poke Sushi Burrito serves burritos and bowls. Like other poke restaurants, this one has you choose your base (sushi rice and kale noodles), your protein (salmon, spicy tuna, red snapper and others) and then your mix-ins, sauce, add-on and toppings. It also offers soups and desserts.

"I stopped by here for a quick bite not expecting much. But I was blown away with the selections available here," wrote Justin N. in his review on Nov. 29. "Not only did I choose what went in my bowl, but my creation was delicious and left me very satisfied. I would recommend this place to any fan of poke."
