The Adolphus Hotel is hosting the fourth installment of its Salon Series "Napoleon's Just Desserts" with Gavin Morrison on Thursday in the French Room. The Salon Series is a monthly event to highlight culture and spark discussion.
According to the promoter of the event, Morrison "will draw connections between the famous emperor, food, myths and paintings using a 19th century portrait of Napoleon hanging in the Adolphus lobby as a foundational starting point; the renowned portrait’s twin currently hangs in the Met. Morrison will also discuss his current literary project, 'A Dictionary of Napoleonic Cuisine.'"

The Shed Women's Group Presents: ReStart!
The Shed Women's Group is holding ReStart! on Saturday at the Meadows Conference Center. The event is a chance for participants to get tips to refresh their physical and mental well-being, and connect with other women. There will also be light refreshments.
The Shed Women's Group is a non-profit organization that is "dedicated to helping women grow through physical, emotional and spiritual activities that promote a mindset of wellness," according to its website.

CRIMINAL @ Texas Theatre

The award-winning podcast "Criminal" is being held in a live setting on Saturday at the Texas Theatre. Host Phoebe Judge will tell stories "of people who've done wrong, been wronged or gotten caught somewhere in middle," according to the promoter of the event.
Time magazine wrote the show is "perfect for people who wish true crime shows had more rigorous journalistic standards."
