Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top bakeries in Baltimore, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to fill the bill.

1. Harmony Bakery

Topping the list is Harmony Bakery. Located at 3446 Chestnut Ave. in Hampden, the bakery, gluten-free and vegan spot is the highest rated bakery in Baltimore, boasting five stars out of 113 reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Avtar K., who reviewed it on Nov. 16, wrote, "Everything is delicious! Sweet or savory, the only thing that could make this place better is if they were open later for those late night sweet treat cravings."

2. Canéla

Next up is Upper Fells Point's Canéla, situated at 1801 E. Lombard St. With 4.5 stars out of 159 reviews on Yelp, the bakery/brunch spot, which serves coffee, tea and more, has proven to be a local favorite.

Grace D. wrote, "They have real coffee and an amazing blend of Mediterranean food with other cuisines. All of the ingredients are fresh, down to their fruit smoothies and baklava!"

3. The Bun Shop

Mount Vernon's The Bun Shop, located at 239 W. Read St., is another top choice. Yelpers gave the bakery/breakfast and brunch spot four stars out of 471 reviews.

Derric A. said, "This is a cool little coffee shop with a hipster vibe. I ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee, a ham and cheese bun and a chicken Parmesan bun. The buns were amazing!"

4. Batch Bake Shop

Batch Bake Shop, a bakery that offers cupcakes and custom cakes in Harford-Echodale - Perring Parkway, is another much-loved go-to, with five stars out of 42 Yelp reviews. Head over to 5414 Harford Road to see for yourself.

Yelper Mike R. wrote, "Best bakery in Baltimore. Their bread is excellent, and they have the best pastry I've had outside of France. The rosemary manchego black pepper scone is phenomenal if you like savory food, and the Boston cream doughnut is the best I've ever eaten. On top of all that, the staff is super friendly, accommodating and helpful. Love it."

5. Sweet Side Café
