The overall decrease in crime incidents was led by burglary and vandalism. Burglary fell to 13 incidents last week, from 18 the week before. Vandalism went from seven to five.
Among the offenses that saw an uptick last week, reports of assault went from five to six. Incidents of robbery rose from zero to one, and theft went up from 25 to 26.
There were 139 reports of "other" crimes, an increase of three from the previous week. SpotCrime's broad "other" category includes a variety of offenses like fraud, trespassing, public disturbance and traffic violations. Of those incidents, 11 involved arrests, such as for drug possession, up from six reported arrests the week before.
Regarding when most crimes are committed, Thursdays, Wednesdays and Fridays continued to see the most reported crimes last week. The largest decrease from the previous week occurred on Sundays, Fridays and Saturdays, while incidents on Thursdays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays went up. Late afternoon, late morning and midday saw the most crime last week.
