A new spot to score seafood and brunch fare has opened for business in the neighborhood. Located at 2419 Mount Vernon Ave. in Potomac West, the fresh addition is called Catch on the Ave.
The restaurant offers small plates, sandwiches and entrees, such as pecan-crusted mahi with creamed spinach or beer-battered cod and chips with malt vinegar mayo. It also has a brunch menu, with choices like barbecued octopus and hominy grits, tasso ham gravy and a poached egg. See the menu here.
With a five-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp so far, Catch on the Ave doesn't need to fish for compliments.
Yelper Nick W. called it,"[A] quaint, friendly, casual establishment with a nautical theme that serves up wonderful meals ranging from delicious bang-bang shrimp to fresh pecan-crusted mahi. I tried and thoroughly enjoyed the fish and grits, while my wife savored three delicious blackened mahi tacos."
