1. Aslan Brewing Company

Topping the list is brewpub Aslan Brewing Company. Located at 1330 N. Forest St., it's the highest rated business in the neighborhood, boasting four stars out of 600 reviews on Yelp.
This spot prides itself on using organic, locally-sourced ingredients throughout its menu, which includes favorites like its Bacon Bison Burger, waffle fry poutine and mac and cheese logs. And don't forget to check out its extensive beer selection, which is brewed on site.
Carrie R., who reviewed it on Dec. 29, said, "I went here for the first time recently and fell in love with the food, ambiance and beer. The location is great, first off. There were charming plants everywhere, and I love the wood tables and outside eating area. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the bartenders work."
2. Structures Brewing

Next up is brewery and beer bar Structures Brewing, situated at 1420 N. State St. With 4.5 stars out of 43 reviews on Yelp, it's proven to be a local favorite.
With a slew of artisanal batches, this spot is the go-to place for beer. On tap, it serves options like Winter Sun (Imperial Stout brewed with vanilla and hazelnut), Zippy (Witbier brewed with fresh lemon zest and lemon juice) and Coffee Cake (oatmeal stout brewed with coffee, cinnamon, almonds and maple syrup). Here, you'll find brand-name groceries at bargain prices. The founder, Jim Read, established this company with the intent to provide fresh, high-quality food and products to its customers. It also raises money for Independence from Hunger, a campaign and food drive that donates to local food assistance partners.
Brennan B. wrote, "A fun place to shop. A nice mix of products to fit a thrifty budget, without sacrificing the quality of goods. A lot of gourmet quality food, mixed in with the standards, all at very reasonable prices and a staff that is friendly and knowledgeable. A gem of a store!"
5. Super Mario's

In a white food truck, owner Mario and his wife Raquel, cook up authentic Salvadoran eats like pupusas (stuffed corn tortillas with your choice of bean and cheese or bean, cheese and pork), tamales (served Salvadoran-style in a banana leaf) and its Wonder Burrito (a layer of cheese, rice, beans, cilantro, onions, cabbage, sour cream, avocado and your choice of meat).
