1. L A Hot Wings

Topping the list is L A Hot Wings, a spot to score chicken wings and more. Located at 1220 Laurens Road, it's the highest rated business in the neighborhood, boasting five stars out of 25 reviews on Yelp.

This spot specializes in crispy chicken wings. They are available in different flavors, including lemon pepper, teriyaki and barbecue. L A Hot Wings also offers fried rice and egg rolls. 

Yelper Noah M., who reviewed it on Dec. 10, said, "Best wings in town! No need for curb appeal when they make up for it in tasty food and customer service. They know most people that walk through their door and get your food to you promptly."

2. India Palace

Next up is Indian spot India Palace, situated at 59 Liberty Lane. With four stars out of 85 reviews on Yelp, it's proven to be a local favorite.

Established in 1992, the spot offers a wide variety of lamb dishes. Shrimp and scallops are featured among the seafood specialties. Lunch specials include an all you can eat buffet from noon–3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Kayla S. wrote, "Intimate setting with delicious food! We are regular customers who look forward to our nights there! I've had lots of entrees there and they all are wonderfully flavored dishes! The servers are attentive as well!"

3. Borderlands Comics and Games

Hobby shop and toy store Borderlands Comics and Games, which offers comic books and more, is another top choice. Yelpers give the business, located at 1434 Laurens Road, 4.5 stars out of 20 reviews.

This spot offers a wide variety of comic books and games. Borderlands also hosts an open gaming night on Thursdays. Take a gander at the spot's most recent merchandise offerings here.

The other half is dedicated to gaming, from role-playing to board types, with lots of gaming accessories available. They have a large gaming area for players to gather. The staff was friendly, but not intrusive."
