New Year New Career Happy Hour

First, the Code Fellows are hosting a happy hour on Thursday to introduce prospective students interested in a career in coding to other Code Fellows students, staff and alumni. The Code Fellows "are a Seattle-based, in person coding academy that guides people from all backgrounds to change their lives through career-focused education," according to the group's website.

'Blueberry Soup' with director Eileen Jerrett

Next, catch a screening of the documentary "Blueberry Soup" on Thursday at the Nordic Museum. The director, Eileen Jerrett, will be in attendance and host a Q&A following the movie. The film "is a deeply touching account of an empowered nation re-envisioning democracy through the drafting of its constitution," according to the promoter of the event.

DJ Danger with Cuff Lynx and more

Then, electric dance music DJ Danger (Franck Rivoire) is performing on Thursday at the Nectar Lounge. He has played hundreds of live shows and headlined several festivals throughout his career. He will be joined by Cuff Lynx and Youryoungbody.

Jeffrey Martin and Mick Flannery

Don't miss singer and songwriters Jeffrey Martin and Mick Flannery on Friday at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center.

Martin, who lives in Portland, Ore., will be supporting his latest album, "Dogs in the Daylight," which is a 15-track collection. Meanwhile, Flannery  is an "award-winning, double platinum selling artist from Ireland who has released five albums," according to his website. 

When: Friday, Jan. 25, 8-10:30 p.m.

Ocean Career Day

And rounding out the events is Ocean Career Day on Saturday at the Seattle Aquarium. The event is a chance for middle school, high school and college students to get information about how to volunteer, intern or work at colleges, nonprofit organizations and government institutions, which will have representatives on-site. There will also be presentations from marine science professionals and college officials. 

When: Saturday, Jan. 26, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
