Next up is Virginia Village's Detour Bakery, situated at 1479 S. Holly St. With 4.5 stars out of 138 reviews on Yelp, the bakery, French and New American spot has proven to be a local favorite for those looking for a cheap option.
The shop offers an array of freshly-made breads and pastries, from French baguettes and boules to both chocolate and tomato croissants. Customers can also purchase a variety of jams and teas.
3. Amore Gelato & Crepes
Downtown's Amore Gelato & Crepes, located at 535 16th St., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the low-priced crêperie, which offers desserts, gelato and more, four stars out of 149 reviews.
The shop specializes in unique crêpes and gelato — with seasonal selections like orange mascarpone and coffee, alongside year-round flavors like sea salt Oreo.
