A new Tex-Mex spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Located at 11319 West Ave., the newcomer is called Emy'z Tru-Tex-Mex.
On the menu, expect to find starters like wings, gulf shrimp and quesadillas. Other menu items include tacos, fajitas, enchiladas and more. Look for the pulled pork cochinita pibil street taco topped with pickled red onions, cilantro and radish. For morning eats, there are also breakfast platters and tacos.
With a four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, Emy'z Tru-Tex-Mex is on its way to developing a local fan base.
Angel S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 30, wrote, "The tacos here are amazing and filling. We also had menudo, a traditional Mexican soup, which was amazing with just the right spice."
And Mary S. wrote, "Had the beef puffy tacos and was not disappointed. The shells were nice and airy, not dripping in grease. Friendly staff and the owners are super nice."
