Noodle Tree
7114 Utsa Blvd., Unit 101

Noodle Tree is a spot to score ramen and more.
What began as a food truck is now a full-fledged restaurant, featuring small plates like spicy edamame, ramen bowls and soft drinks. The Kimchi Hakata Ramen bowl includes pork bone broth with kimchi puree, a soy-marinated egg, pulled pork chasu, scallions, kimchi, pickled mushrooms, pickled ginger, burnt garlic oil, chili oil and seaweed. (You can see the full menu here.)

Hana T. noted, "I never drive out of my way for food, especially ramen, but let me tell you this is by far the best ramen I've had in Texas."
Hungry? It's open from 5–10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and 5–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Emy’z Tru-Tex-Mex
11319 West Ave.

Emy’z Tru-Tex-Mex is a new Tex-Mex spot.
The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch and offers enchilada plates, tacos, churros and more. Be sure to try the Chunky Pozole soup, made with pork and hominy in a mildly spicy guajillo and ancho chile broth. It's garnished with shredded cabbage, diced onion, cilantro and arból chiles. (See more menu options here.)
It has a five-star rating out of three Yelp reviews so far, indicating rave attention.
Mary S., who reviewed it on Dec. 29, said, "Had the beef puffy tacos and was not disappointed. The shells were nice and airy, not dripping in grease. Hubby had the cheese enchiladas and said they were good. Friendly staff and the owners are super nice."
Angel S. noted, "Family owned and operated and they truly care about customer service! Clean restaurant and great music."
It's open from 7 a.m.–3 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
LA Crawfish
1518 Austin Highway, Suite 18, Wilshire

LA Crawfish is a Vietnamese and Cajun/Creole spot, offering seafood and more. The franchise has multiple other locations throughout Texas, as well as one in Chino, CA.
It offers crawfish, of course, but you'll also enjoy chicken and chicken wings, oysters, shrimp, noodles, phở and rice. (Check the menu here.)
With five stars out of 19 reviews on Yelp, it's off to a strong start.
Yelper Inga C., who reviewed it on Jan. 7, said, "The single-mindedness of a crawfish restaurant is brilliant. What you might not expect is all the variety of things they do with crawfish, from Cajun to Southeast Asian, and how they bring other seafood [into the mix], like shrimp, crab and calamari. "
And Stephen C. wrote, "The po'boy was amazing. Lots of perfectly fried and seasoned mud bugs, amazing french bread imported from Louisiana and a delicious house-made remoulade."
The new eatery has yet to post its hours online.
