La Cucina Italiana
10208 Chapel Hill Road, Town Center

La Cucina Italiana has one other location in the area. The spot makes its dough and sauce on-site daily. In addition to a wide variety of pizzas, the menu also includes strombolis, calzones, hot subs and pasta dishes.
With five stars out of three reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival is receiving positive attention.
Helena W., who was the first to review it on Dec. 3, said, "It's a recently remodeled building and the inside is very nicely decorated with plenty of televisions. The large windows make the relatively small dining area feel cozy but not cramped. Everything was very clean. Service was great, the cashier was friendly and knowledgeable. The food came out fresh and quick. Prices are very reasonable and portions are large."
And Yelper Greg T. noted, "Fresh-made pies, calzones, subs and more from a family owned little shop with roots in Queens, NYC. Flavors are spot on for a New York-style pizzeria with an old school approach to quality, quantity and prices."
La Cucina Italiana is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
Mizu Kitchen
4051 Davis Drive

Mizu Kitchen is a new Asian fusion spot.
Mizu Kitchen specializes in poke bowls and poke wraps. Also, look for the Vietnamese phở among its soup offerings. The menu also includes hibachi and vegetarian options.
With 3.5-stars out of five Yelp reviews so far, it's off to a solid start with local diners.
Maurice M., who reviewed it on Dec. 11, wrote, "Very flavorful, very tasty. Plenty of pork belly chasu perfectly cooked and the noodles had a nice chew. My only complaint is that it could have used a tad bit more noodles."
Greg T. added, "[The ramen broth] was intensely deep, smokey and rich. The egg is cooked perfectly runny (served whole) and the pork belly is somewhere between grilled and smoked heaven, served super tender with the perfect mix of fatty and meaty."
Mizu Kitchen is open from 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on weekdays and noon–9:30 p.m. on Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)

I stopped in for breakfast and ordered the chai tea latte and honey nut pear stack. The service, presentation and taste were all great."
And Alicia W. wrote, "Excellent spot to meet up with friends, brunch out or work on something that doesn't require your undivided attention. I say the last because it gets loud, but don't let that deter you. All the things are tasty, appetizing and Instagram-worthy."
