A new Vietnamese and Cajun/Creole spot, offering seafood and more, has debuted in the neighborhood. Located at 1518 Austin Highway, Suite 18,  in Wilshire, the fresh addition is called LA Crawfish. It has multiple other locations throughout Texas and one in Chino, CA.

The menu offers crawfish, of course, but also other seafood, like oysters and shrimp in baskets and po'boys. Phở, noodles and rice are also available. Try the Awesome Garlic Noodle bowl, featuring rice noodles tossed with a garlicky sauce reduction, shrimp, hand-peeled crawfish tails, double-smoked andouille sausage slices, caramelized onions and jalapeños, all garnished with a sprinkle of crispy shallots, cilantro and a whole cooked crawfish. (Check out the full menu here.)

With five stars out of 19 reviews on Yelp, it's off to a strong start.

Yelper Inga C., who reviewed it on Jan. 7, said, "The single-mindedness of a crawfish restaurant is brilliant. What you might not expect is all the variety of things they do with crawfish, from Cajun to Southeast Asian, and how they bring other seafood [into the mix], like shrimp, crab and calamari. "

And Stephen C. wrote, "The po'boy was amazing. Lots of perfectly fried and seasoned mud bugs, amazing french bread imported from Louisiana and a delicious house-made remoulade."

The new eatery has yet to post its hours online.
