If barbecue is what you're after, look no further than this new business. Called Side Burn BBQ and Brew, the fresh arrival is located at 4630 Natomas Blvd., Suite 130, in North Natomas and comes courtesy of founder and experienced franchiser Jared Katzenbarger, explains the eatery on its website.
On the menu, expect to find barbecue fare "with a bit of California flair," from applewood-smoked jalapeño bacon and fried okra to Sierra Nevada Polish sausage and crunchy slaw.
A variety of sauces are on hand as well, including honey butter, Siracha aioli and mango habenaro. (You can check out the full menu here.)
With a three-star rating out of nine reviews on Yelp so far, Side Burn BBQ and Brew has received mixed feedback — but it's still early days.
Erin H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 13, wrote, "We were limited on our barbecue meat options because they miraculously sold out of brisket, tri-tip, chicken and turkey. My hubby and his dad got the three meet-combo with the only three meats left — ribs, pulled pork and sausage. All were okay at best."
"The food, especially our choices of brisket and sweet turkey were fabulous — well-cooked and oh so flavorful," review Yelper Barry G. "The best barbecue we've ever eaten!"
