Pizza fans, take heed: there's a new shop in town to get your slice. Located right outside the BART station at 2174 Shattuck Ave. in Downtown Berkeley, the fresh addition is called Sliver Pizzeria.

The count is once again three locations for the East Bay business, after going to two when the Center Street location closed last year. The new spot has seating on the plaza outside the storefront, where diners enjoy a roster of vegetarian pizzas that change daily. (View the week's current special here.)

Vegan and gluten-free pies are also available, though calling ahead is recommended. Recent examples have included a pie with roma tomatoes, corn, mozzarella and feta, and another of wild mushrooms, mozzarella, goat cheese, green onions and fresh herbs.

There's beer and wine, and live music is a regular feature on weekend evenings.

With a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, the new pizzeria has been warmly received by patrons.

Yelper Emma M. wrote, "Back in downtown Berkeley! The taste is perfect. This place feels refreshing, very open, lots of light, beers are cheap, and slices are $3.25 but very filling."

Johol P. added, "Gluten free life is hard, especially when you love pizza and cheese. If you are like me, get here and try this awesome GF crust. Amazing food and wonderful staff."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Sliver Pizzeria is open from 11 a.m.–10:30 p.m. daily.
