If you love live music, there's no time like the present when it comes to getting out and about in Dallas. From a smooth jazz concert to a set of EDM from multiple nationally-know DJs, here are the local shows worth checking out this weekend.

The Knocks

First, catch The Knocks perform on Friday at Club Dada. The New York City-based electronic group, which is comprised of Ben "B-Roc" Ruttner and James "JPatt" Patterson, are on tour to support their second LP, Narcotic, including the single "Ride or Die."

Lil 2z Live

Next, Lil 2z is performing on Friday at the Prophet Bar. The rapper/hip-hop artist — and Dallas Native — arrived on the music scene in 2016 and counts "Crusin," "3 A.M.," and "Lay Low" as hit singles and released his first studio album, "Finally," last April and his second one, "Livin' 2 Fast," in September. 

When: Friday, Feb. 8, 9 p.m.-2 a.m.

Vandell Andrew Presents: For Lovers

Then, take in a night of soothing jazz as Vandell Andrew is performing on Saturday at the Poor David's Pub. The saxophonist has released two albums, has had six Billboard Top 25 singles, a No. 1 ranking on Billboard's Smooth Jazz Chart and was nominated for Soul Train Award for "Best Contemporary Jazz Performance" in 2014, according to the promoter of the event.  

When: Saturday, Feb. 9, 7-10 p.m.

Sewer Sessions: Symbiotic, Rampage, Snooko, Zhalo

Or, kick it up a notch with a concert from nationally-known Electronic Dance Music DJs Symbiotic, Rampage, Snooko and Zhalo on Saturday at the Green Elephant. Expect to hear a heavy dose of dubstep sounds.

When: Saturday, Feb. 9, 8 p.m.

Love in Bloom

Lastly, take in an operatic performance of "Love in Bloom," on Sunday at a site provided after a ticket is purchased. Three Metropolitan Opera singers and other artists will sing favorite opera arias and ensembles with a Valentines Day theme. Champagne and Valentines Day treats will be served.

When: Sunday, Feb. 10, 3-6 p.m.
