Rooster & Owl

Rooster & Owl is a New American spot offering seasonal tasting menu.
Operated by a husband and wife team, their vegetarian-friendly menu has included such dishes as butternut squash ravioli with pumpkin seeds and brown butter and Jerusalem artichokes with pistachios and d’anjou pear.
Yelp users are excited about Rooster & Owl, which currently holds five stars out of seven reviews on the site.
Yelper Cham K., who reviewed Rooster & Owl on February 8, wrote, "The small plates we tried were all humble dishes, but also made with elevated flavors which we very much appreciated. Our favorite was dessert, which was a hazelnut praline mousseline with brown butter and dark chocolate."
618 Cocktail and Whiskey Lounge

618 Cocktail and Whiskey Lounge is a whiskey bar with a small modern American menu.
As Hoodline has reported, this new bar replaces Penny Whisky Bar above the Chinatown Garden restaurant. It's an intimate watering hole serving signature and classic cocktails, along with beer-and-a-shot combos.
It's food menu includes a burger topped with grilled onion, cheese and a whiskey sauce, while the cheesesteak egg rolls are made with sliced rib eye and are topped with mozzarella cheese and a sweet chili glaze.
618 Cocktail and Whiskey Lounge is open from 3 p.m.–11 p.m. on Monday-Wednesday and Sunday, 3 p.m.–1 a.m. on Thursday and 3 p.m.–2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Flower Child
2112 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Suite 101, Foggy Bottom

Finally, Flower Child is a new vegetarian-focused fast-casual spot in a vast industrial-yet-arty space.
Part of a national chain, it offers salads and internationally-tinged main dishes. There's a Vietnamese salad, for example, with savoy cabbage, quinoa, peppadew, pineapple, avocado, cashew, Thai basil, cilantro and mint under a spicy lemongrass vinaigrette.
Flower Child's current rating of 4.5 stars out of eight reviews on Yelp indicates positive attention from users.
Yelper Kyra J. wrote, "All of the meats are organic and were cooked to be nice and tender. Everyone was super friendly and the atmosphere was very peaceful. I ordered the squash and Brussels spout salad and it was very fresh."
