
If healthy, vegetable-forward fare is what you're after, look no further than this new business. The new arrival to Foggy Bottom, called Flower Child, is located at 2112 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Suite 101.
Slogans like "Good goes around" and "Healthy food for a happy world" set the tone at this restaurant under the the Fox Restaurant Concepts umbrella. It's located in a new mixed-used building, next-door to soon-to-open sister restaurant, North Italia.
Starters include avocado toasts and hummus. Salads feature classic American ingredients, like cauliflower, butternut squash and savoy cabbage, as well as international accents, like tabbouleh and South African Peppadew peppers.
As for main dishes, there are items like a Thai-flavored tofu wrap or a bowl with two types of rice, snap peas, bok choy, broccoli, carrot, onion, toasted sesame and red chili hoisin.
Flower Child has already attracted fans thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp.
Austin G., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on February 9, wrote, "I ordered a plate of gluten-free mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts. Both were among the best I've had in the city."
Yelper Rumit P. added, “All of the ingredients were really fresh and vibrant and it worked together to create a delectable, magical, hearty meal.”
