A new Indian spot has debuted in the neighborhood. Located at 2205 N. Central Expressway, Suite 180, the fresh addition is called Desi Ginger Indian Cuisine.

The menu offers vegetarian and non-vegetarian options as well as naan and rice. Menu standouts include the Subz Jugalbandi (mixed vegetables cooked with tomato gravy and Indian herbs) and Kubuli Chicken (chicken and chickpeas cooked with ginger-garlic and onion paste). Or there is the Peshawari Naan, which is stuffed naan with dried fruits and nuts. Make sure to leave room for dessert, such as the Saffron Baklava Bites or cassata ice cream. The new addition has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Anupama U., who was the first to review it on Feb. 2, said, "We went in for lunch today and had a great experience. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. We got some complimentary chai to start with and it was one of the best chais that I have had in a while. We had the vegetarian platter and the food was amazing and very authentic and the portions were just right."

And Leo A. added, "The food is amazing. Very flavorful. Portions are large, but not way too much. This is northern Indian food. The meat was very tender and the rice aromatic."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Desi Ginger Indian Cuisine is open from 11 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 5:30–10 p.m. daily.
