Fortunately, Washington boasts a number of quality pizza shops to satisfy your craving for a slice or a pie.
Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top pizza outlets, using both Yelp data and our own blend of spices to produce a ranked list of the best places to venture — or to call — on National Pizza Day.
1. Matchbox

Topping the list is Matchbox. Located at 713 H St. NW (between North Seventh and North Eighth streets) in Chinatown, the "upscale casual" restaurant is the most popular spot for pizza in Washington, boasting four stars out of 2,768 reviews on Yelp.
2. Il Canale

Next up is Georgetown's il Canale, situated at 1065 31st St. NW (between North Canal Street and Blues Alley). With four stars out of 2,456 reviews on Yelp, the Italian spot has proven to be a local favorite.
3. &pizza

Downtown's &pizza, located at 1400 K St. NW, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the quick-service pizzeria 4.5 stars out of 478 reviews.
4. 2 Amys Neapolitan Pizzeria

2 Amys Neapolitan Pizzeria in Cleveland Park is another high-traffic go-to, with four stars out of 1,546 Yelp reviews. Head over to 3715 Macomb St. NW (between North 38th Street and North Wisconsin Avenue) to see for yourself.
5. Pi Pizzeria

Finally, over in Penn Quarter, check out Pi Pizzeria, which has earned four stars out of 1,455 reviews on Yelp. You can find it at 910 F St. NW (between North 10th and North Ninth streets).
