Crime incidents in Vallejo saw an overall increase last month, after a previous decline, according to data from SpotCrime, which collects data from police agencies and validated sources.
Incidents rose by about 20 percent, from 321 in December to 386 in January.
The month-to-month increase in reports was led by burglary and vandalism. Burglary rose from 88 reported incidents in December to 124 in January. Vandalism incidents went from 19 to 35 for the month, or about an 84 percent increase.
While somewhat smaller categories, there was also a sizable percentage increase last month in arson, from zero incidents per month to two, and in robbery, from 16 to 20. Arson reports have decreased since the same month last year, while robbery incidents have declined.
There were 45 assault reports last month, and one shooting incident. Assault incidents rose from 40 offenses the previous month, while shooting reports increased by one incidents.
Among the few types of offenses that saw a downturn last month, theft reports went from 130 to 107.
Considering the concentration of crime across the city, vallejo heights and Saint Vincents Hill Historic District saw the largest increase from December to January.
Thursdays, Wednesdays and Sundays experienced the most reported crimes last month. The largest increase from the previous month occurred on Thursdays, Tuesdays and Saturdays, while incidents on Mondays went down. midday, early afternoon and late morning saw the most crime last month on average each day.
