Dr Martin Luther King Jr " UNITY" Golf tournament

First, hit the links for the second annual City of San Antonio Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "Unity" golf tournament and scholarship benefit on Saturday at the SilverHorn Golf Club. Prizes will be awarded for individuals who finish in first, second and third in the longest drive and closest to the pin contests. A breakfast and barbecue buffet is included with each round of golf purchased.

Proceeds from the tournament assist young people to attend higher learning.

Staying True to Yourself

Also on Saturday, head over to the Westside Branch YMCA to hear a panel discussion with former San Antonio Spur Bruce Bowen and former U.S. Representative Charlie A. Gonzalex on the importance of maintaining your identity in your career and beyond. The pair will touch on topics such as why purpose matters, advice for middle and high school students on how to best be prepared for the future, how to manage adversity and more.

8th Annual Golf fore Friends Tournament

Next, spend the day on the greens at the eighth annual Golf fore Friends tournament is on Friday at the Hyatt Hill Country Golf Club. Registration includes lunch, music and an auction following the round of golf. Proceeds from the event benefit the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System, which is the only faith-based, nonprofit health system in San Antonio and offers innovative programs, health care and community outreach initiatives.

Get Fit. Give Back

Lastly, help the San Antonio Food Bank restock its shelves with the Get Fit. Give Back. event on Saturday at the San Antonio Food Bank Pavilion. The party includes fitness classes for adults and kids, massages, live music, local food, drinks and beer. Plus, bring five items to stock the shelves to be entered into a raffle for prizes. Even better, kids get in for free.
