The number of crime reports in Redwood City saw an overall decline last month, after a previous rise, according to data from SpotCrime, which collects data from police agencies and validated sources.
Incidents fell by about 12 percent, from 287 in January to 252 in February.
The offenses most on the decline last month were burglary and theft. Burglary fell from 41 reported incidents in January to 28 in February. Theft incidents went from 72 to 62 for the month, or about a 13 percent decrease.
There were three robbery reports last month, and 17 vandalism incidents. Robbery incidents dropped from five offenses the previous month, while vandalism reports decreased by three incidents.
Among the few types of offenses that saw an uptick last month, assault reports went from 19 to 21.
Looking at crime patterns in different areas of the city, Oakwood, Friendly Acres and Eagle Hill saw the largest decline from January to February.
Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays experienced the most crime incidents last month. The largest decrease from the previous month occurred on Thursdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, while incidents on Mondays and Sundays went up. Comparing times of day, after midnight, midday and late night saw the most crime last month on average each day.
