Listen to Brian McCammack's discuss his award-winning book, "Landscape of Hope," which examines the growing environmental consciousness of African Americans during the Great Migration period. Learn about Chicago's green spaces as sites of racial discrimination, but also as places to retreat and relax.

Chicago History 101: The Speakeasy Series (3/7 "Education")

Next, dive into the origins of the Chicago city flag as the Old Chicago Inn hosts the monthly installment of the Chicago History 101: The Speakeasy Series with "Education: Immigration & School Design." The guest speaker is Blanca Torres, an activist with Save Saint Adalbert’s. Open to adults 21 and over.

Take the Stage Gala
Don't miss Lakeside Pride's inaugural "Take the Stage Gala" this Saturday. It features an open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres and food stations. Sway to music from Strayhorns Jazz Combo, a surprise Latin band and more. Center on Halsted CEO, Modesto Tico Valle, will be honored with an award.
