First, the 106th running of the Louisiana Derby is Saturday at the Fair Grounds Race Course and Slots. There are eight races scheduled, around the 1.8 mile oval, with stakes worth $2.36 million.

SEC Gymnastics Championship

Also on Saturday, the city is playing host to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Gymnastics Championship, for the first time, at the Smoothie King Center. Gymnasts from SEC schools such as LSU, Kentucky, Florida, Georgia and more are competing in the floor routine, bars, vault, uneven bars and balance beam.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Houston Rockets

Lastly, all-star Anthony Davis and the Pelicans host NBA scoring leader James Harden and the Rockets on Saturday at the Smoothie King Center. The two teams have split the season series so far this year with the Pelicans winning 131-112 at Houston in October and the Rockets eking out a 108-104 victory at the Smoothie King Center in December.
