Coffee and tea fans, take heed: There's a new spot in town to get your fix. The fresh addition to Chinatown, called Sawada Coffee, is located at 33 Cortlandt Alley. It shares space with Au Cheval.
Owned by Hiroshi Sawada, who was named Asian World Champion Barista in competition in 2008, the signature coffee spot also has an outlet in Chicago. The menu features crafted espresso and matcha-based drinks, as well as "boozy steamers" that include Scotch and honey or Benedictine and chai, for example.
The newcomer has proven popular thus far, with a 5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.
Yelper Ajay M., who visited the new spot on April 4, wrote, “This place is a hidden gem and has great tasting coffee."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Sawada Coffee is open from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. daily.
