New boxing-inspired fitness spot Rumble Boxing now open in Dupont CirclePhoto: Rumble Boxing/Yelp

A new group fitness spot has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called Rumble Boxing, the fresh addition is located at 2001 M St. NW, Suite 120 in Dupont Circle.

The New York-based chain offers "boxing-inspired" workouts of ten "rounds" split between bag and floor work. On the water-filled bag, you'll focus on a series of punches (a jab, a cross, a hook, an uppercut) plus a deep-bend ducking move. The floor activities combine traditional moves, like push-ups and squats, with weights to complete a high-intensity workout. Instructors choreograph these moves to coincide with thumping hip hop and other high-energy music.

You can borrow gloves and have your hands wrapped on site, and the locker rooms include amenities like a sauna and high-end hair and soap products.

Rumble Boxing has made an excellent impression thus far, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.

Leoshay L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on April 15, wrote, "When you first walk in, it's very spacious and has a clean, modern/hip look. The time went by fast, but I burned a ton of calories and left feeling pumped (and sore)."

And Kate O. wrote, "The hype is absolutely real. I took my first class with Kareem who is an absolute gem. He is so upbeat and charismatic that I actually found myself smiling through parts of the (otherwise grueling) workout."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Rumble Boxing is open from 5:30 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday, 4:30 a.m.–10 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30 a.m.–9 p.m. on Friday, 7 a.m.–6:30 p.m. on Saturday and 7 a.m.–7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
