Jewel Box: A musical celebration of queer diversity
Coming to Palm Court this Wednesday, Jewel Box celebrates queer diversity through design, art and music. Baritone Keith Phares and pianist Ting-Ting Wong will perform music from composers that include Laura Kaminsky, Jake Heggie, Paula Kimper and Benjamin Britten.

Hard Evidence: The Visibilities and Invisibilities of a Changing Climate
If climate change is on your mind, don't miss this Thursday's "Hard Evidence: The Visibilities and Invisibilities of a Changing Climate" at the MDC. Brian J. Soden, a professor at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School for Marine and Atmospheric Science, is one of three featured speakers who will discuss issues related to art, activism and climate science.

The Amparo Experience

"The Amaro Experience" will take you on a historical journey from present day Miami back to 1957 Cuba. Coming this Thursday to the Real Havana Club, this production takes you into the heart of the Arechabala family — survivors of the Cuban Revolution, Cuban exiles in Puerto Rico and founders of real Havana Club rum. Expect "high drama, live music and authentic Cuban cocktails," notes the theater's website.

O, Miami Poetry Fest: Kaveh Akbar, Paige Lewis, Caroline Cabrera and Cherry Pickman
Finally, celebrate O, Miami Poetry Fest 2019 this Sunday at Life House Little Havana. You'll get to listen to four poets read their works, including Tehran-born Kaveh Akbar. He's one of Paris Review's resident poets, and his poems have appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, the American Poetry Review and more.
